Information on the Final Meeting 2006

The Si-WEBS Final Meeting will be held in Brest on September 18-22.



Hello everybody !

I hope you are all doing very well.
I'm writing to you for two reasons, both being related to the end of our network which is approaching too quickly.

1. As you know, the final meeting will take place in the Brest area during the week 18-22 September. This meeting will take place in Landeda, in the "Abers" region. This is a wonderful place to stay (please, take a look at http://salle-de-seminaires-congres-reunion-brest-finistere-29.centredelamer.com/salle-de-seminaires-brest/eng/index.htm). What I need to know from you before tuesday, May 23rd, is the list of participants from your group, and titles for the talks of the YRs, + any suggestion. I hope everybody will be able to attend. Look, we will have a barbecue on the beach and I will try to organize an afternoon of kayacking (canoeing ?) to go down the Aber Whrac'h... illustrating the land-ocean continuum... It is too early for a preliminary programme but the idea is that we start by YR presentations, giving each one hour (talk + questions) or so. The second part could be devoted to discussions around joint publications, or future projects/collaborations. Any suggestion (talks by seniors ? invitation of scientists from outside the network ? ...) is welcome of course !

2. We need to start preparing the 4rth progress report and the final report. Please, take a look at the attached file (guidelines for reporting), so you can have a flavor of what I will need from you (same thing as for 3rd report + special things for the final report including YR and senior questionnaires). I will send a detailed template by next week, and a list of all documents needed (for example, all publications and book chapters).. I will need these documents by the end of June. PLEASE, MAKE SURE YOUR REPORTS ARE READY BY THAT TIME. I will need to compile all this in July, being absent in August. We will make adjustments to the report during the final meeting and I will collect questionnaires by that time.

This is it for today. More by the end of next week, when I have prepared a template for the reports and when I have a better idea of who will attend the meeting.
